Exploiting and promoting its geographical strengths, over the years, Long An province has focused on mobilizing all resources to build modern and synchronous transport infrastructure. Long An province clearly identified the importance of transport infrastructure. In successive congresses, the Provincial Party Committee chose to invest in building synchronous infrastructure as a breakthrough program; construction of arterial traffic works, connecting trade are key works. Since then, many roads have been completed, serving the set requirements well, contributing to the local socio-economic development.
In particular, the DT830 project passes through key areas of industrial development of the province from Duc Hoa, Ben Luc, Can Duoc and the end point of Long An International Port (Can Giuoc district) with a total length of about 55km. This is a route of great significance for the development, connecting industrial zones, clusters, seaport systems, facilitating goods trade as well as transportation and travel.
Dang Hoang Tuan, Director of the Department of Transport, said that Long An province has been focusing on developing transport infrastructure in a modern direction, enhancing the connectivity of major urban centers and increasing urban centers. The development of an efficient and competitive transport network, linking the regional transport network, creates conditions for the province to become a real gateway connecting the Mekong Delta and the region. The Ring Road Project of Tan An City is one of the key works of the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the term 2020 - 2025. Currently, this work is deployed and implemented by the units according to the plan. The project consists of two main parts: The road is more than 22km long, the roadbed is 33m wide and the Vam Co Tay bridge is nearly 500m long.
Or, Project DT826E (section from DT.826C intersection to Can Giuoc bridge) was started by the province at the end of June 2022, including 2 components. Component 1: Construction of Tan Khanh and Ba Dang bridges and site clearance with investment capital from the provincial budget. Component 2 project is a road construction item with investment capital from the corporate budget.
When completed, the project will be the main axis connecting projects of industrial zones, clusters, urban complexes of housing, entertainment, commerce and services in the area of Long Hau commune, Can Giuoc district. In the future, this route connects with National Highway 50, the Southwest dynamic axis (the extension of Pham Hung Street in Ho Chi Minh City) to Long Hau Industrial Park, Nguyen Van Tao Street in Ho Chi Minh City; Tan Tap - Long Hau road (to Long An International Port), Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park (HCMC), contributing to promoting socio-economic development of the locality.
The province is also focusing on mobilizing all resources to implement key and dynamic projects and works such as: Provincial Road Project 827E, Provincial Road 830E (section from expressway intersection to Provincial Road 830), Luong Street Hoa – Binh Chanh, Huu Thanh – Tan Buu, Road connecting the road leading to Rach Doi bridge to Tel.826E, Duc Hoa dynamic shaft (Connecting road TEL.822- TEL.823- TEL.823B- TEL.825 ), Tan Tap - Long Hau Road (section from Ring 4 to Provincial Road 830)…
According to Mr. Tuan, synchronous construction and completion of transport infrastructure is one of the key tasks that have been focused on investment and implementation in recent years. The completed works serve well the travel and trade needs, create regional linkages, make practical contributions to the province's socio-economic development as well as meet the requirements of industrialization and modernization.
In its functions and tasks, the Department of Transport regularly works with construction units to check and urge the progress of the project. Some projects still have difficulty in terms of space, the Department has worked with departments, branches and localities to discuss the plan to ensure construction and advise the Provincial People's Committee on solutions to guide in the implementation process.
For key works, projects, and transitional breakthrough programs, the Department requires all construction units to urgently and focus resources to complete according to the signed contract.
