A large-scale chemical and fertilizer manufacturing project with a total investment of nearly VND 500 billion by SOP Phu My 2 Joint Stock Company has officially been signed at IDICO Phu My II Expansion Industrial Park (IP), further extending industrial capital flows into Vietnam’s southern deep-sea port gateway.

Under the agreement, SOP Phu My 2 will develop the SOP Phu My 2 Plant on an area of approximately 3 hectares within IDICO Phu My II Expansion IP, following the completion of legal procedures and the issuance of its IRC in March.

With a total investment of approximately VND 471.6 billion, the project will be implemented in three phases, with Phase 1 expected to commence operations in July 2028. The plant will focus on the production of potassium sulfate (SOP – K₂SO₄) fertilizer and key inorganic chemicals such as HCl and PAC—essential inputs for agricultural and industrial supply chains. Upon full operation, the plant is expected to reach the following annual capacities:

• 60,000 tons of SOP fertilizer  

• 72,000 tons of HCl  

• 40,000 tons of PAC  

As a pioneering enterprise in potassium sulfate fertilizer production in Vietnam and among the few such projects in Southeast Asia, SOP Phu My contributes to enhancing domestic production capacity for high-quality fertilizers, while promoting industrial diversification, improving investment quality, and strengthening value chain linkages within IDICO Phu My II Expansion IP.

The continued selection of an IDICO IP for this project reflects the company’s confidence in the infrastructure and investment environment of the IDICO industrial ecosystem. Previously, it had invested in and operated a manufacturing facility at IDICO My Xuan A IP, gradually expanding its production footprint in the Phu My industrial hub.

Featuring integrated infrastructure and direct connectivity to the Cai Mep – Thi Vai deep-sea port complex - one of the few locations in Vietnam with direct container shipping routes to Europe and the Americas - IDICO Phu My II Expansion IP offers significant advantages in reducing transit time and optimizing logistics costs, thereby facilitating both raw material imports and large-scale product distribution. In addition, its strong connectivity to major expressways such as Bien Hoa – Vung Tau and Ben Luc – Long Thanh, along with an internal inland port system and on-site industrial gas supply, further enhances large-scale manufacturing capabilities and enables deeper participation in global supply chains.
