In the morning of 16/12/2023, within the framework of his trip to Japan, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the Vietnam - Japan Economic Forum. The forum was organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan in collaboration with the Japan Trade Promotion Organization (JETRO).

At the forum, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh witnessed the awarding ceremony of 30 agreements and cooperation documents between ministries, agencies and enterprises of Vietnam and Japan. In which, Mr. Ngo Dong Hai, Secretary of Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee handed over the investment registration certificate of LNG Power Project to the Codeshare of 3 investors including Tokyo Gas Company, Japan's North Kyuden Power Company and Vietnam's Great Wall Corporation. The project has a capacity of 1,500MW, total investment capital of 1.99 billion USD.
According to Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ngo Dong Hai, this project has an important meaning, when put into operation, it will promote the socio-economic development of Thai Binh, improve the scale of the economy as well as the position of the province; contribute to ensuring national energy security.
Thai Binh has recently emerged as one of the leading localities in attracting foreign investment. This year alone, the total registered investment capital of projects has reached nearly VND 90,000 billion, more than 4 times higher than the same period in 2022. In which, foreign investment capital alone reached over 3 billion USD, the highest ever.
Some large projects can be mentioned as, the project of Compal Electronic (Vietnam) Co., Ltd., building a factory to manufacture and process computers and computer peripherals, with a total expected investment of 260 million USD; investment project to build a crystalline silicon wafer factory used to produce photovoltaic cell wafers of ET Solar Power HongKong Limited, with a total expected investment of 150 million USD; or the investment project to build a beverage factory of HiteJinro Group, with a total expected investment of 100 million USD... And now, it's a nearly $2 billion gas power project.
Earlier, when speaking at the Vietnam-Japan Economic Forum, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam is making efforts to build an independent and self-reliant economy associated with proactive and proactive international integration.
Vietnam has also set a strategic goal of becoming a developing country with high middle income by 2030 and by 2045 becoming a developed and high-income country. In which, taking internal resources is basic, strategic, decisive, long-term; External forces are important, breakthrough.
The Prime Minister called on Japanese businesses to continue to invest and succeed in Vietnam, obtaining higher and higher results; The success of investors is also the success of Vietnam.
The Prime Minister affirmed that Vietnam is a safe place before the storm, in the context of the world economy with many risks like today.
